Engine 902 |
||
Engine 902 is was formerly Engine 905 running out or our South Hill Station. Now, it is a reserve engine. Engine 902 and Engine 905 are twin engines purchased in 1990 from Saulsbury Fire Equipment Corp. These were our first stainless steel bodied units. They are on Simon-Duplex D-500 split tilt cab and chassis. The cabs are of aluminum construction. Both trucks have 1500 GPM Hale fire pumps, 1000 Gallon booster tanks with integral 100 gallon class "B" foam tanks and Fecon around-the-pump foam proportioning systems. The bodies are equipped with Robinson Roll-Up doors. Each engine has a 1500 gallon fold-a-tank for rural operations. They are also equipped with hydraulic rescue tools and respond as rescue engines. The engines are Detroit Diesel Series 92, 8V92TA, 450 horse power, with Allison HT-740 automatic transmissions, and Jacobs engine brakes.
